ATLIS’s mapping solutions and imagery products are ideally suited to support efforts to manage our natural resources: from monitoring agricultural crops, to managing the risk of wildfires, mapping remote watersheds, or evaluating the impacts of human settlements on the environment.

ATLIS provides you with the big picture and our high-resolution color, multispectral and near infrared image capabilities required for sophisticated remote sensing of the natural world.

Forestry

Forestry requires the management of natural resources within a forested area. In addition to timber, forests provide such resources as grazing land for animals, wildlife habitat, water resources and recreation areas. Forestry agencies worldwide are responsible for the management of forest harvesting, grazing leases, recreational areas, wildlife habitat, mining activities as well as protecting endangered species. GIS is used to balance the competition for resource conservation and resource use.

ATLIS’s imagery products provide a highly accurate base map that foresters can use to visually plan, design, balance, and implement various competing projects and resources. Additionally, ATLIS can derive various land use land cover and forest health information that further assist foresters in building their planning efforts.

Species Identification

Using aerial remote sensing technologies, ATLIS is able to identify and locate different species of trees. This is useful in determining the number and position of sub-species within a forest, or finding the extent and nature of weed cover prior to planting for example. Where insect infestation has occurred and a specific host species of tree is identified,  ATLIS’s technology can rapidly locate and map where the host trees are.

Health Monitoring

Every year forest owners lose value from their forest asset through poor tree health and the effects of disease or pest infestation.

Trees exhibit distress in their leaves which ATLIS’s remote sensing specialists can detect and locate on a map.  Knowing the extent of disease or infestation in a forest allows the forest manager to accurately target sprays and other treatments, saving time and money.
